ACME ELECTRIC CORPORATION'S AC LINE REACTORS PROVIDE COST SAVING BENEFITS
Lumberton, N.C., Acme Electric Corporation, Power Distribution Products
Division has introduced a line of AC Line Reactors designed to reduce line
problems and protect the electrical distribution system for AC variable
frequency and DC motor drives. These three-phase transformers can often
be used in place of the more costly drive isolation transformers, if no
voltage change is required and there is a reliable power source available.
Unlike most competitors, Acme's AC Line Reactors are designed with specific amperage ratings and are available from 2 to 600 amps and 1 to 500HP. Voltage ratings for the AC Line Reactors include 208, 240, 480 and 600 volts at 3% impedance. The 480 and 600 volt models are also available at 5% impedance. Acme's AC Line Reactors can provide longer life to variable speed controllers, inverters or other sensitive equipment which may be damaged or shut down by power line disturbances. In effect the AC Line Reactors act as a filter, significantly improving drive performance and protecting the drive's input rectifier from failure or damage and limiting drive harmonic demands. A DIN-Rail adapter plate is available on sizes up to and including 16 Amps, providing decreased layout and installation time a cleaner panel look and overall less cost for applications. In addition to the DIN-Rail the following benefits may be provided by using Acme's AC Line Reactor:
